VARBERG BY FOOT OR BIKE

The feeling is different, more intense when you feel the ground and the wind touch your face. The scents. When you hear the nature around. A somewhat slower pace give you time to discover. So close to the city center you'll end up at the "Strandpromenaden" - it's inevitably. By bike you easily get to Getterön or Läjet. And even if you drive to Åkulla, you for sure would use your shank's pony when there.

Hiking in Åkulla

THE FANTASTIC BEACH WOODS

More than fifty square kilometer to hike in. Just where the coastal landscape meets the forests of the hinterland. Lots of paths and  Massor av naturstigar och vandringsleder. Stroll along the medieval Via Regia.

Kattegattleden

EUROPE’S CYCLING TRAIL OF THE YEAR 2018

Did you know that the 2018 European cycling trail of the year runs through Apelviken? Between Gothenburg and Helsingborg, or in the opposite direction, the Kattegattleden trail runs along the shore, passes Handlar’n Apelviken, circles Solviken and continues past our Comfort apartments along the promenade toward the Varberg Fortress. If you choose to ride the entire trail, you’ll get a marvellous 390- kilometre trip along the ocean, with a wealth of amazing places to stop; Höganäs, Mölle, Glommen, Åsa. Across open beach meadows, little coastal towns and an abundance of history. The Kattegattleden trail is divided into eight stretches, and if you’re planning to stay overnight in Varberg, what could be better than spending it with us? Stay to take in the sea, the good food and the friendly atmosphere of the bay. Or why not allow yourself two days with us, and spend an entire day exploring the Åkulla beech forests by bike. Magical beauty, both among the fresh spring leaves and the blazing red of autumn.

The Kattegattleden trail is Sweden’s first national bike trail, opened in June, 2015. For more information, please visit the Kattegattleden home page, which provides maps and lists of attractions along the way.
