OCTOBER 24-26 & OCTOBER 30- NOVEMBER 2 2025
The autumn holidays offer loads of cosy comforts and community – and a few creepy things, too!
The autumn school holidays, from October 24th to November 2th, is time to get together. Getting comfy. Bring candles and slippers. Get yourself and the kids a getaway. Some good time with your family. Restaurant Solviken is open. And then there’s that thing, Halloween…

If you dare ...
Then it's other thing ... Apelviken dressed in autumn colors, a walk along the dark sea out to Subbe Lighthouse on a November evening is just about as much cozy fright as we can handle. But there are also rumors of a strangely, disturbingly delicious ghost breakfast at Nisses.
But for those who want an especially spooky autumn break, there’s Halloweekend: a package with a a kit to make your apartment, caravan or motorhome terrifyingly scary yourself, a pumpkin workshop, torchlit ghost walk, and all sorts of frightful experiences.
CIRCUS APPIS
It’s said that once upon a time, a circus stood on this very spot. Long before sun, surf, holidays, and swimming. A circus full of magic, laughter, and pranks. Then suddenly it disappeared. Gone! No one really knows what happened. Even less why. Was it a tragic accident, a violent death, or just a slow fading away that brought it to an end? Someone claims to have heard that a curse rests on this ground… and every year, during Halloweekend, the circus comes back to life. The ringmaster roams the night, searching for new souls to drag into an eternal performance.
•
Halloweekend is the family weekend of spooky coziness, where of course we scare the living daylights out of parents, siblings, and staff. We don’t go to bed on time and eat far too many sweets. Trick or treat?

We're watching the movie Onward! together! Exciting and heartwarming children's film about elf brothers Ian and Balder Kvickfot, who get the chance to spend one last day with their deceased father. They embark on a magical adventure filled with spells, maps and unexpected obstacles. A film about courage, sibling love and appreciating family. And as always at Apelviken's cinema, there will be juice and popcorn! That's it!

Mini ghost
10/24
GATHERING AT THE CIRCUS TENT
A slightly calmer version of the ghost walk. Just right, we think. The circus director is more clumsy and funny. The walk takes place only on footpaths and is therefore stroller-friendly. Since the activity starts at the circus tent and then moves from there, it is important to be there at the scheduled start time.
from 8PM
Ghooost Walk!
10/25
GATHERING AT THE CIRCUS TENT
Here, the Ringmaster lures you into the Clown Forest, a place where medallions have no power and dangers are close at hand. This dark forest is filled with monsters waiting to capture new souls for Cirkus Appi's eternal performance. Strict rules apply here: the ghosts are not allowed to touch you, and you are not allowed to touch them! You follow the Circus Director's directions through the forest, but be prepared to keep your eyes open and feel the excitement grow with every step. Keep in mind that this is not a tour for strollers, animals or sensitive grandmothers. Since the activity starts at the circus tent and then moves from there, it is important to be there at the scheduled start time.

AT THE CIRCUS AREA
All trips are too long when you’re a child. Full of energy, it’s simply no fun to sit still. We can’t do anything about the distance, but to help burn off some of that extra energy, the bouncy castles are open—while the rest of the family packs up the awning, Halloween masks, and pumpkins for a calmer journey home.

THRILL & CHILL
OCTOBER 24 - NOVEMBER 2
Arrgh, as if it weren’t enough that we’re haunted by ghosts, spirits, and departed ringmasters during the autumn break and Halloweekend. Now all sorts of strange things seem to be happening in town as well – there are rumors of enchanted cornfields and curses. Yikes! Time to pull yourself together, balance it with plenty of coziness, and snuggle up with the family. Between October 24 and November 2, it’s Spooks and Snuggles in Varberg. The fortress will be lit up, and the truly brave can take a light walk through the city’s streets and parks – but that’s certainly at their own risk.
Head over to Visit Varberg's event page to read more about everything that's happening.
